PlanMyEvent may collect personal information from you in a number of ways, including when you:
- Register to use our Website as a Customer or Vendor
- Subscribe to a paid plan
- Send an enquiry to a Vendor
- Leave a review on a Vendor profile
- Use our planning tools (Event Planner, Budget Tracker, Timeline, Vision Board)
- Contact us for support
- Browse our Website (via cookies and analytics)
Account information: Name, email address, password (encrypted).
Vendor information: Business name, email, phone, location, category, description, photos, website, social media links, business hours.
Enquiry information: Customer name, email, phone, event date, event type, message content.
Event page & RSVP data: When guests RSVP via a shareable event page, we collect their name, attendance status, dietary requirements, and plus-one details. This data is visible to the event page creator only.
Planning data: Event checklists, budget items, timeline entries, notes, and favourites.
Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card details on our servers.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, IP address, browser type, device information, referring website.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act 1988, such as racial or ethnicity information, political opinions, criminal records, or health information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform
- Connect Customers with Vendors via enquiries
- Process subscription payments via Stripe
- Display vendor profiles publicly on the Website
- Send service-related communications (account updates, enquiry notifications)

- Enquiries: When a Customer sends an enquiry, their contact details (name, email, phone, event details) are shared with the Vendor they contact. For Free plan Vendors, contact details are hidden — only the message and customer name are visible.
- Public profiles: Vendor business information (name, category, location, description, photos) is displayed publicly on the Website.
- Reviews: Customer reviews (name and comment) are displayed publicly on Vendor profiles.
- Payment processing: Payment data is shared with Stripe for transaction processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their use of this data.
- Service providers: We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform (e.g., hosting, analytics), subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: When required by Australian law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We do not share your planning data (checklists, budgets, timelines, notes) with anyone. This data is private to your account.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the Asia-Pacific (Sydney) region, Australia.
We implement security measures including:
- Encrypted authentication via AWS Cognito
- Secure HTTPS connections
- Access controls and role-based permissions
- Regular security updates
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please notify us immediately if you become aware of any security breach.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may also use analytics tools to understand how visitors use our Website.
We collect non-personally identifiable information including browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and referring website. This information is used to improve our services.

- Enquiries you sent may remain visible to the Vendor
- Reviews you left may remain on Vendor profiles (anonymised)
- Some data may be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud prevention purposes
9. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Hosting, database (DynamoDB), file storage (S3), authentication (Cognito) — servers located in Sydney, Australia
- Stripe: Payment processing — data may be processed internationally per Stripe's privacy policy
Each service has their own privacy policy governing their use of data. We recommend reviewing their policies.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.
